Why it happens and what we're after

Poor traction: raise the rear power lock to share torque between both wheels, soften the rear spring so it follows the terrain better, and raise the rear ride height slightly for more travel.

What to change, exactly

Ranges, steps and defaults are the REAL ones for this sim. The amount is expressed in the game's own unit so you can apply it without converting anything.

  1. 1.Rear diff power lock

    Raise ↑ by 4 %4 slider steps

    Range: 0 – 44 % · Default: 35 %

    How much the REAR diff locks on power (4WD/RWD only). High = more exit traction and stability (the rear doesn't snap), with risk of throttle understeer; low = more exit rotation. The rules' main rear lever.

    What changes when you move it this way

    Higher: more exit traction and stability, both wheels pull evenly; some throttle understeer.

    This adjustment does not apply to front-wheel-drive cars (the differential acts on the driven axle).

  2. 2.Rear spring rate

    Lower ↓ by 10 N/mm10 slider steps

    Range: 60 – 200 N/mm · Default: 116 N/mm

    Rear spring stiffness, in real N/mm (varies by class). Sets how much the rear rotates and how the rear axle follows the terrain.

    What changes when you move it this way

    Softer rear: shifts balance toward understeer and improves traction over rough ground.

  3. 3.Rear ride height

    Raise ↑ by 4 mm4 slider steps

    Range: 40 – 80 mm · Default: 60 mm

    ABSOLUTE rear ride height, in mm. The difference vs the front sets the 'rake': a slightly higher rear helps rotation and turn-in; lower stabilises at high speed.

    What changes when you move it this way

    Raising the rear: more rake and rotation, more travel over big bumps.

How to apply it without losing your afternoon

  1. 01Change ONE thing at a time and run three clean laps before judging. Two changes at once and you no longer know which one worked.
  2. 02Start with the first parameter on the list: they are in the order the engine applies them, from the one with most authority to the fine tuning.
  3. 03If the change goes the right way but falls short, repeat the same step again before touching another parameter.
  4. 04If it gets worse, put it back. A setup you don't understand is slower than a baseline you do.

Where this sim stores its setups

EA Sports WRC does NOT support importing/exporting or sharing setups by file in-game. Settings are saved inside the savegame per car and per surface/condition. To 'share' setups the community copies values by hand from external sites (e.g. WRCsetups.com). Local PC location: AppData\LocalLow\Codemasters\EA SPORTS WRC.
