F1 25: tyres overheating — what to change

What it feels like

Grip falls off after two or three laps and temperature or pressure climbs past the window.

Why it happens and what we're after

Overheating tyres: lower all 4 pressures and reduce camber slightly to spread the heat and lower thermal load.

What to change, exactly

Ranges, steps and defaults are the REAL ones for this sim. The amount is expressed in the game's own unit so you can apply it without converting anything.

Parameters flagged as “estimated range” do not come from a verified in-game capture: the direction of the change is right, the exact magnitude may differ on your car.

  1. 1.Front-left tyre pressure (FL)

Lower ↓ by 0.3 psi3 slider stepsestimated range

    Range: 20.0 – 32.0 psi · Default: 25.0 psi

Cold pressure for the front-left corner, PSI confirmed by the official struct (m_frontLeftTyrePressure). Community-recommended range: 22.5-29.5 PSI. F1 25 models all 4 corners separately, unlike most sims in this catalogue.

What changes when you move it this way

More contact patch and mechanical grip, but sidewall temperatures rise.

  2. 2.Front-right tyre pressure (FR)

Lower ↓ by 0.3 psi3 slider stepsestimated range

    Range: 20.0 – 32.0 psi · Default: 25.0 psi

Cold pressure for the front-right corner (m_frontRightTyrePressure). Same source and range as the left; adjusted separately because on circuits with predominantly one-direction corners (e.g. Baku, Singapore) the corners load differently.

What changes when you move it this way

More contact patch and mechanical grip, but sidewall temperatures rise.

  3. 3.Rear-left tyre pressure (RL)

Lower ↓ by 0.3 psi3 slider stepsestimated range

    Range: 18.0 – 30.0 psi · Default: 23.0 psi

Cold pressure for the rear-left corner (m_rearLeftTyrePressure). Community-recommended range: 20.5-26.5 PSI, lower than the front.

What changes when you move it this way

More traction and rear stability, until pressure drops so low it overheats.

  4. 4.Rear-right tyre pressure (RR)

Lower ↓ by 0.3 psi3 slider stepsestimated range

    Range: 18.0 – 30.0 psi · Default: 23.0 psi

Cold pressure for the rear-right corner (m_rearRightTyrePressure). Same source and range as the left.

What changes when you move it this way

More traction and rear stability, until pressure drops so low it overheats.

  5. 5.Front camber

Raise ↑ by 0.1 °1 slider stepestimated range

    Range: -3.5 – -2.5 ° · Default: -3.0 °

Front wheel lean seen from the front, range -3.50° to -2.50° (source: community guide; degrees unit inferred by convention, not confirmed by an explicit label in EA's official PDF — medium confidence). Published F1 25 example: -3.50°.

What changes when you move it this way

Toward -2.50° (less negative): more straight-line grip and less wear/heat, with less lateral cornering grip.

  6. 6.Rear camber

Raise ↑ by 0.1 °1 slider stepestimated range

    Range: -2.2 – -0.7 ° · Default: -1.5 °

Rear axle camber, range -2.20° to -0.70° (source: community guide; same medium-confidence unit note as the front). Published F1 25 example: -2.00°.

What changes when you move it this way

Toward -0.70° (less negative): more straight-line traction, with the rear slightly less planted in corners.

How to apply it without losing your afternoon

  1. 01Change ONE thing at a time and run three clean laps before judging. Two changes at once and you no longer know which one worked.
  2. 02Start with the first parameter on the list: they are in the order the engine applies them, from the one with most authority to the fine tuning.
  3. 03If the change goes the right way but falls short, repeat the same step again before touching another parameter.
  4. 04If it gets worse, put it back. A setup you don't understand is slower than a baseline you do.

Where this sim stores its setups

F1 25 lets you save named setups from the garage screen itself (an in-game feature widely documented by community guides). No public source was found confirming an exportable on-disk file format: the verified way to share a community setup is to copy the values by hand from dedicated hubs like F1Laps.

If that wasn't it

Symptoms get confused with each other: what feels like poor traction is very often oversteer on throttle. These are the other diagnoses for this sim.

The same problem in other sims

Same symptom, different parameters: each game exposes different sliders, with other units and other ranges.
